Grade 6/7 Exploratories
All of our grade 6 and 7 students have the opportunity to experience unique and diverse learning activities. The exploratories occur on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning. The students are grouped together and will rotate through a variety of exploratories. They will be exposed to the following areas of the redesigned curriculum:
- Applied Design, skills and technology
- Career Education
- Arts Education
- Physical and Health Education
Here are some of the activities: beginning band, intermediate band, art, cooking, screen printing, design challenges, specialized sports (basketball, volleyball, softball, lacrosse, ice hockey), fun and fitness, computer technology, leadership, young entrepreneurs, community service with a home for the elderly, creative writing, drama and drama productions.
Grade 4/5 Mini-exploratories
All of our grade 4 and 5 students have the opportunity to experience unique and diverse learning activities. The exploratories occur one hour/week. The students are grouped together and will rotate through a variety of exploratories. They will be exposed to the following areas of the redesigned curriculum:
- Applied Design, skills and technology
- Career Education
- Arts Education
- Physical and Health Education
Here are some of the activities:
- Outdoor pursuits
- Cooperative games
- Art
- Youth business
- Robotics
